Lance Armstrong Got Run Over
After surviving testicular cancer, Lance Armstrong made a strong comeback in the sport of cycling. He won cycling’s most prestigious event, the Tour de France, in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. At the time; it was speculated he was using performance enhancing drugs. One minute, Lance was near death. Next minute, he was setting records.
After his retirement in 2005, drug use allegations would continue to follow Armstrong. In August 2012 the Anti-Doping Agency removed his results from 1998-2012. In October 2012 Armstrong was stripped of his seven gold medals and banned from the sport.
Why did the ADA wait until after Armstrong’s retirement to feign righteous indignation? After he cheated death to dominate, they didn’t need a positive test to know he was on drugs. I knew he was on drugs. Any common sense person knew he was on the “juice.” That being said, Armstrong has never flunked a drug test. They convicted him using the testimony of a bunch of haters. These haters were people he had beaten in races and jealous team members. The agency has no new evidence. They waited until now because Armstrong made people want to watch cycling. As long as he was riding and winning; they were happy. Now, since Armstrong’s retirement, the sport is hurting for attention. And, once again, they are using Armstrong to get it.
Seven-time Tour de France champion, Lance Armstrong, was run over this week. He was banned from a sport that he made more exciting and popular. The Anti-Doping Agency convicted him by using nothing but hate and whispers. Now they hope, by persecuting Armstrong, his media attention will save them once again.
